Control & Automation

Stable operations start with control systems your operators can trust. We bring process, power and remote assets together in one clear operational picture, and upgrade aging systems without losing the functions your plant depends on.

Automation systems and applications

From process and utility control to power management, SCADA and the OT infrastructure beneath it, we deliver automation that gives operators one consistent picture of the plant. We deliver new systems, modify existing ones and upgrade obsolete PLC systems on the main industrial platforms.

PCS/DCSProcess and Utility Control Systems

The control layer that runs the process, and the utility systems that support it.

Key functions: Regulatory and sequence control, interlocking, alarm handling, operator HMI, historian and integration of packaged units over OPC UA, PROFINET/PROFIBUS and Modbus. Redundant controllers and networks, kept separate from the safety systems.

Value: One control and operator philosophy across process and utilities, with fewer interfaces, faster fault-finding and one trusted data source.

ECSElectro Control System

Control and monitoring of the power system: switchboards, transformers, generators, drives, UPS and emergency power.

Key functions: Breaker and feeder control, load shedding, generator synchronization, power management with blackout prevention and structured recovery, and energy and earth-fault monitoring. Interfaces to protection relays and switchgear over IEC 61850, Modbus and hardwired signals.

Value: Load shedding acts in milliseconds to prevent production loss, and integration with process control gives electro and process disciplines a common picture.

IEC 61850

SCADASCADA and Control Rooms

One operational picture and remote operation across distributed assets.

Key functions: Data acquisition from turbines, substations, remote sites and subsea, overview HMI, alarm management, historian and reporting, and remote control over redundant communication links. Control rooms designed around the operator’s actual task.

Value: Run many assets from one location with fewer people on site, faster response and consistent operating practice.

OTOT Infrastructure

The networks, compute and security architecture that everything else runs on.

Key functions: Segmented and redundant networks, firewalls and DMZ, secure remote access, hardening, patch and backup regimes, asset inventory and continuous monitoring, designed as zones and conduits.

Value: A defensible and auditable plant: segmentation limits how far an incident can reach, and standardized infrastructure is easier to patch, extend and support.

HMIHMI Systems

Operator interfaces delivered on the platform you already operate.

Key functions: Delivery and modification of operator graphics, alarm presentation, historian and trending, and safety overview pictures with auto-navigation on F&G and ESD alarms.

Value: Extends your existing operator environment instead of adding another HMI, training need and support agreement.

PLCGeneral Automation

Upgrades of obsolete PLC systems based on reverse engineering of the existing function, as well as new safety and non-safety automation.

Key functions: Reverse engineering of the existing PLC application, based on the code, the I/O and how the plant actually behaves, so the function is fully documented before it is replaced. Upgrade and replacement of smaller PLC systems, typically Siemens, GE-Fanuc and ABB, with the same engineering, testing and documentation regime as our safety deliveries.

Value: Moves the existing function from an undocumented, unsupported system to a supported one without losing behavior the plant depends on, and leaves you with up-to-date documentation.

Circle HHelideck Lighting

LED helideck marking that shows the touchdown circle and the ‘H’ as lit outlines.

Key functions: Surface-mounted luminaires forming the touchdown/positioning circle and the ‘H’, coordinated with the perimeter lights and controlled from the helideck lighting panel with dimming and lamp-failure monitoring.

Value: Better visual cueing in poor visibility, less glare for the pilot and fewer weather-related delays, with lower power use and maintenance than floodlights.

CAP 437

NavAidNavigational Aid Lighting

Makes offshore installations visible, identifiable and avoidable to vessels.

Key functions: Main and subsidiary lights, fog signal, identification panels, radar reflectors, racon and AIS AtoN, with lamp monitoring alarmed to the control room.

Value: Supports the marine permits and lets the installation operate without restricting shipping, with LED lanterns and battery backup independent of platform power.
